     Aisle runner on grass

I am having a wedding outdoors at a golf course. I want to have an aisle runner rolled out just before the bride walks down the aisle. My concern is that the runner will crumple and tear as she walks on it. What can I do to make sure this doesn't happen?

Speak to the banquet manager and ask for his/her help. If they have had weddings there before they are sure to have suggestions or maybe they have a cloth runner.
