Announcement of the Couple-names not changing

We are having a formal civil wedding and both retaining our original names. I am wondering how to be announced by our officiant as I do want it known what name I will go by. Also, I (the bride) am a doctor and my fiance is not. Thank you for your advice.

Dear Banff Bride,

You could suggest skipping this if you want. But, I find nothing wrong with being announced as: The newly married couple, Dr. Jane Brown and her husband, Mr. John Smith. The names could be reversed since this is a verbal announcement. It is your choice.

Best wishes,

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my privilege to present to you for the first time, the newly wedded Mr. _______ and Dr. _______. "

OR: Many of my couples, where one is a doctor and the other is not, simply forgo the titles.

Blessings!
