Bestman and Father Escorting Bride Down Aisle

I'm helping a friend with her wedding. Because her dad is elderly and recovering from a hospital stay, he can not escort her down the entire aisle at her ceremony. However, she wants to have her son (who is also the Bestman) escort her half way down the aisle and her father meet them then take her the rest of the way. I understand the sentiment but am having an issue with the Bestman escorting the bride half way down the aisle then somehow getting to his position by the groom without it being distracting. I really hate this idea, but wanted some professional opinions. What are your thoughts?
