Both Father and Step-Father want to give me away

My parents are divorced and both remarried when I was 5 years old, so I am very close with my step-father. I lived with him and my mother and he always treated me like his own daughter. We have a great relationship. I also have a great relationship with my bio dad and he has always been a big part of my life. The problem that I have is that both of them want to walk me down the aisle, but my dad said he will be really hurt and sad if he has to share that moment with my step-dad. They have not always been on the best terms. I agree with my dad that he shouldn't have to share that moment with anyone else, but at the same time I feel like my step-dad has been there for me just like a father and I couldn't take that moment away from him either. Any suggestions on how to keep my step-dad involved in the ceremony, but still keep my father happy?

We have had a lot of posts on this same subject so you;re not alone. Please use the search tool or scan the forums to see previous answers.

Some of the prior suggestions were to have your step dad walk you half way and your bio dad walk you for the conclusion. (Not my fav).

Other suggestions were to include your entire family in a unity candle ceremony and/or to share a special dance at the reception with each of the dads.

Good luck with your decision.
