My fiance and I just became engaged on April 1st. I had never thought about my wedding plans as I really had no intentions of ever getting married.
Could you please tell me how many bridesmaids and groomsmen should be in the wedding party. 3 of my friends were married within the last 2 years and each had a Matron of Honor and 2 bridesmaids plus a best man and 2 groomsmen. My fiance has a few close male friends, however I am not close to any of women in our "circle of friends". My fiance's sister would be the Matron of Honor. Also, do I need to have a flower girl and a ring bearer? A friend of mine has a little boy that is 5 years old, but none have little girls. I have a niece who is going to be 10 but I think she is too old and also she is already over 4 feet tall.
Also, could you please tell me who would pay for the Bridal Parties dress(es). Do I pay or would they purchase their own?
Thank you

Re: [killerbee1970] how many attendants, flower girl age: who pays
[In reply to]
The number of attendants you choose for your bridal party depends on the formality of the wedding:
Formal: 4 to 10 attendants
Semiformal: 2 to 6 attendants
Informal: 1 to 3 attendants
You can have a ring bearer without having a flowergirl. Typically flower girls range in age from 4 to 10 but you should select the flowergirl based on her size and maturity level. Your neice may be more comforatble and appropriate as a junior bridesmaid.
All bridal party attire and accessories are purchased by the attendant. This includes the bridesmaids, groomsmen, ushers, flowergirl and ring bearer. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
