We are planning an informal outdoor wedding. We plan to have everyone gathered around us during the ceremony. I do not want to walk down the aisle. I would just like to be standing with my fiance at the front and have the ceremony begin. What is the proper way to preform a wedding were the bride does not walk down the aisle?

If the bride elects NOT to walk down an aisle, your officiant can simply gather everyone by saying, "Everyone, it is time to begin the ceremony. Please gather round the bride and groom." Then more poetic words ensue. Sometimes I have rung a small bell, then soft background music is played. If you don't have live music, any boombox with your favorite C.D. will do! At this time, I indicate to everyone with a motion of my hands to quiet and settle down. Then I close my eyes for a while, listening to the lovely music, letting it uplift me and everyone else, giving everyone a moment to go within before beginning the ceremony.
