Bride wants divorced grandparents to walk her down the aisle
Since my father is unable to walk me down the aisle at my wedding, I'd like to ask my Grandfather and Grandmother to do so, however they are divorced. Even though they still get along great I feel that guests may find it a little strange. Any words?

Dear BecomingMrs,
You don't have to be escorted by anyone. But, if you want your grandparents to escort you, that is fine. If they still have a good relationship, then it shouldn't seem awkward.

Many of my couples have walked down the aisle with their divorced parents, so the same applies to the grandparents. Also, your grandparents will be walking by opposite sides of you, one to your right and one to your left---and not together. I am sure they will be very honored.

As long as its comfortable for them and comfortable for you, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Just go with what is most meaningful to you. Shayna Walker, Williamsburg Wedding Design http://www.williamsburgweddingdesign.com
