I'm getting married in a small country church. The church has bright red carpet down the center aisle, which I'm hoping an aisle runner will tone down, and on the stairs which my bridal party will stand on during the ceremony. I found a beautiful shade of blue that I would like for my December wedding, but I'm just afraid that it will look "patriotic" with red, white & blue. Do I need to go with a different color dress for my bridesmaids, do I not worry about the carpet since it's obviously nothing I can control or do you have any suggestions to disguise the carpeting?

Re: [WinterBride] Bridemaids' dresses clash with church carpet

We attended a beautiful December wedding where the colors were bright "Christmas" red and white. The bridesmaids dresses were cherry red, and the cake was white with fresh gorgeous burgundy red roses on the edges and rose petals scattered on the cake and table.
I say take advantage of the red carpeting, since it will be December. The wedding we attended had beautiful fresh pine bough and cranberry candle centerpieces. The wedding table was draped with pine bough and cones. The Bride's dress was the typical bare shoulder, but when she left the reception to get into their car she put on a white fur cape and for her her hands a white rabbit fur muff with tassels. She reminded me of a Russian princess!
Gold for your bridesmaid on the stairs would complement the red beautifully. Enjoy! Copen Cabana DJ Audio Visual Production providing Custom Wedding Coffee Table Photo Book with DVD Services http://www.knowareland.com
