Can uninvited children go to the ceremony if not invited to the reception?

My nephew is getting married in a wedding hall. The cocktail hour and reception is following the wedding ceremony. We are from out of state and will have someone watch my son while we are at the reception. My question is, can we take my son to the ceremony and then get the baby-sitter to take him home?

Dear Linda -

If your son's name was not on the invitation then, no, he is not invited (sorry) to the wedding which includes the ceremony.

Thank you! My husband and I are having a little spat over this and what can I say, I was right.

It's great when that happens, isn't it? Wink

Tell him that you'd like to make this event into some special time just for the two of you. Could be very romantic - he should be pleased. Smile
