I am having a beach destination wedding in FL. My fiance and I are chartering a private plane so we can bring our beloved 3 dogs, who we want to participate in our wedding (they are our children). We have 2 girls and one boy. We will also have my 1 niece and 1 nephew in the wedding, who will be either Jr. attendants, or flower girl/ring bearer. Any creative ideas on what to call our dogs in the program? I was thinking of having my niece/nephew "escort" the dogs down the aisle.

All of this sounds sweet, but one word of caution. There are many people, such as me, who have been attacked by dogs. We are extremely uncomfortable around dogs. So, you may have some of your guests ducking for cover.
Plus, children can be unpredictable in weddings. Hopefully, especially if they are to be attendants, they are older. With these two unpredictable elements together (dogs and children), this could end up looking like a movie Steve Martin would have loved starring in. Let's hope for the best.
The name that comes to mind for your dogs would be Canine Attendants.
We took our sweet puppy everywhere with us for sixteen years, until she passed away. Then she took part of our hearts with her.
So many adjectives come to mind....our free spirited children, our kiddos, best friends, beloved companions, non judgmental pals, stalwart friends, our kindred spirits, our guardians, our angels in the "ruff", ....
I hope you have chosen a photographer who loves animals, so they will appreciate their presence and take advantage of the moment for some great picture opportunities. When hiring a photographer, be sure to include in the contract that you will own the images when all is said and done, so that you have exclusive control of their production.
Good Luck!
P.S. Please send a picture of the bridal party, so we can see the three kids. Thanks! Copen Cabana DJ Audio Visual Production providing Custom Wedding Coffee Table Photo Book with DVD Services http://www.knowareland.com
I have two beloved bichons, but, I too have to caution you that, although cute, the dogs could become freaked out by the guests and the excited atmosphere. Who knows what they may do? I'm picturing my two guys running a muck with kid flying behind. If they are male dogs watch for leg lifting. Nothing puts the damper on a good party better than spot giving Great Aunt Esther a hosing down!
Plus, who will be watching these dogs during the ceremony and reception?

Thanks for your quick response! The children are older (10 & 11), and the dogs very well behaved, and always around people. I'm not worried they'll be running around or causing commotion, except for perhaps an occasional bark. During the ceremony, we would ask (beforehand) a trusted adult to watch them, and drived them back to our beachhouse after the ceremony. The reception will be sans dogs.
