     Escorting MOG's partner

My parents are still married. My fiancés parents are divorced. Neither are remarried, but his mother is in a relationship with another woman. My fiancés parents do not get along due to this situation. We are inviting all of them to the wedding. Seating is not an issue since his father is the best man.

Do we have his mother’s partner escorted to her seat by our ushers or should she be seated ahead of time? And, should we list her in the program since she is escorting his mother to the ceremony and reception?

Dear MrsSoon,

This situation would be treated the same as if the MOG was in a relationship with a man. Her significant other would follow the MOG as she is being escorted to her seat. If she would rather, her significant other could be seated well before the wedding. It is her choice.

She would be listed in the program as her escort.

Best wishes,
