Grandfather with two deceased wives - memorial

My fiance's grandfather has been married three times. His second wife was my fiance's grandmother, or at least the one he recognized as his grandmother. However, my future mother-in-law wants to honor her mother (the first wife) at the wedding. We have planned to honor our other grandparents with memorial candles. Is it ok to honor his first wife with a candle even if my fiance' never knew her? How can we word this on the program? Our current wording is: The memorial candles at the front of the church are lit in loving memory of Craig's grandmother, Sherry Stankiewicz, and Summer's grandmother, Dorothy Talley, and grandfather, Kenneth Lanphere.

Dear Honoring,

Your examples are fine. You may honor anyone you wish. But, this should be your decision.

Best wishes,
