     Honoring Deployed Soldier

My fiance's brother was suppose to be a groomsmen. However, he found out last minute that he will be deployed to Afghanistan during our wedding (he is in the air force). What are some ideas to honor him at our wedding, without making it seem like a memorial?

All the men could wear a small lapel pin (i.e.: a flag, on the opposite lapel of the boutonnieres.) The pin really can be whatever you want and it will be a symbol of support for his deployment without making it seem like a sad occasion.

That is a wonderful idea. Also, there could be a toast in his honor during the reception.

Perhaps you could list him in the wedding program and/or have a special prayer said for the soldiers overseas?
