Matron and maid of honor- who first?

Between a maid of honor (friend or sister) and matron of honor (aunt), who walks down the aisle first and who stands next to the bride during the ceremony? Also, who would throw the bachelorette party, bridal shower, hold the bouquet, sign as the witness, pretty much do any of the duties that the one maid or matron of honor usually does?

Dear Who First?

Both Honor Attendants could walk together, or the one who has the most duties could walk directly before you. Most brides choose to have the matron of honor, or the older of the two walk last just out of respect. These two could share all responsibilities or choose to divvy them up. Perhaps all three of you could chat over coffee/tea to discuss all of the responsibilities and who wants to do what.

Best wishes,
