i have just heard of the most fantastic ideas, a girlfriend of mine and I were speaking about my upcoming wedding and the fact that I am going to change my name and she mentioned that she had heard of women changing their maiden name to their middle name and taking their husband's name as their last name, for example
Jane-Amanda Smith becomes Jane-Amanda Smith Johnson
I thought that this was an interesting way to do things, this way you are keeping your own name, but not having an insanely long hyphenated last name...what does everyone think about that? I am so excited to mention this idea to my father, he will love it!
later, kim

Dear Kim:
Yes, I have heard of women using their maiden name as their middle name after marriage. Be sure that name is on your marriage license so it's legal. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
