We are thinking of having a nighttime wedding on a Friday. Would it be a good idea to have the reception following the ceromony on Friday or having the reception the day after? Thank you

It's best, and most convenient for guests, to host the reception immediately following the wedding. I think you loose a lot of the excitement when it's done later. The only time we usually have the reception later, is for destination weddings when the reception is done back home or when the reception is held months later.
