     Sand ceremony for wedding

At the hotel where we are having our ceremony they do not allow open flames and require that you place a glass hurricane around any unity candles. I dont really like the idea of putting anything around my candles... SO we have decided to do something a little different and have a unity sand ceremony. But now I've been reading more about it and I'm finding that it is more appropriate for an outdoors/beach wedding. Would it be ok to have it indoors for a more formal wedding or would it look funny?Unsure

As a Wedding Officiant, I have conducted the sands ritual within a wedding ceremony indoors and it works beautifully! Have no worries about this being an "outdoors" type of thing. If this feels like something you'd like to do and express during your wedding ceremony, go for it!
