     Small Wedding - Big Family

My fiance & I are a little confused on how to do our wedding/reception planning. We would like a very small outside wedding ceremony with very close family & friends (max of 25 people). And then have a BIG reception with the everything! The cakes, decorations, food, dancing, a D.J, a slide show. But my fiance has a HUGE family and we were not planning to invite everybody we know to the ceremony. How do we split it up so that we do not hurt anyone's feelings, and how do we put it on the invitations? H-E-L-P!Crazy

Dear Planning,

I'm not sure what you are asking, but I will give it a go. If you want to invite some to the wedding, but all to the reception this is fine. You would send wedding/reception invitations to those attending both. Send reception invitations to those only attending the reception. This is quite common. Please read more about wedding/reception invitation etiquette.

Best wishes,
