     Strange Query!

Hi,

I have a strange query:- something that I hadn't thought was a problem.....my fiancé and I have been together for nearly 5 years and engaged for nearly 4....we are hoping to get married in a church (church of Wales). My fiancé hasn't been christened - now i didn't think this would be a problem, but my (future) mother in law informed me that we wouldn't be able to get married in church because he hasn't been christened!! is this true? My mother in law is a Jehovah's witness and I don't want to offend her feelings but i am just wondering if she's trying to cause trouble or whether what she says is true?? help!!

Your query isn't so strange! If you have a pastor or minister and/or a church, please visit and find out what their requirements are to be married in their venue. Every church is different and oftentimes a Minister and/or Pastor will have a different take on things. Get the right information up front so you can make good decisions for you and your Sweetheart.

It may very well be true. Call the Church of Scotland, the parish in which you hoped to marry and ask. Take heart. Your path will be made clear one way or another.
