The proper order for the processional

I am getting married outside and I was wondering what the proper order is for the wedding processional.

If you could please let me know the proper order I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jess

Hi Jess.

This is a typical wedding processional lineup. However, it can be modified to suit your own individual situation.

1. The groom, best man and officiant walk down the aisle and then stand facing the guests.

2. An usher escorts the grandmother(s) of the bride to her/their seats.

3. An usher escorts the grandmother(s) of the groom to her/their seats.

4. An usher escorts the mother of the groom to her seat.

5. An usher escorts the mother of the bride to her seat.

6. The groomsmen walk down the aisle and stand next to the best man, who is standing next to the groom , and face the guests.

7. The bridesmaids walk down the aisle and stand facing the guests.

8. The maid/matron of honor walks down the aisle and stands next to the bridesmaids facing the guests.

9. The ring bearer walks down the aisle and stands in front of the groomsmen facing the guests.

10. The flower girl walks down the aisle and stands in front of the bridesmaids facing the guests. Often the flower girl and ring bearer will walk together

11. The father of the bride escorts the bride down aisle.
