     Throwing Rice

I would like to have rice thrown at our wedding, but I am not sure when this should be done. We are not getting married in a church, so there will be no grand exit. The ceremony will be held outside at a country club and the reception is also going to be held at the counrty club, but in its banquet room. When we have the recessional, do we just wait at the end of the aisle for the guests to exit and then they throw it at us, or should we have the guests exit and then have the recessional? Please help me, my wedding is coming up soon.

If you have not done so already, check with the country club to make sure throwing rice is permitted. If it is, then generally the rice is thrown once you start the recessional. But be careful if you follow through with having rice thrown instead of say blowing bubbles. Some guests will throw the rice harder than others and when it hits the skin it can sting.

Plus, rice isn't good for the sourrounding wildlife. Try birdseed or rosepetals.

It is ok to throw rice where I am getting married, also it is not actual rice, but wedding rice, not harmful to animals and dissolves as soon as it rains.

Thank you,
