     Uneven sides at ceremony

We are having about 100 people at our wedding. I only have a few good friends, most of whom are in my wedding. My fiance has many friends and we share friends in common who are couples but know him better so will probably sit on his side. I don't want my side to look barren compared to his for our ceremony. He has agreed to not have sides at my request. Is this ok for a wedding to not have sides? If so, how do you go about doing that? Won't everyone automatically flock to the side that they see everyone they know?

It's completely fine not to have sides, or just to assign the first rows or two and make the rest open seating. Just have your ushers, groomsmen or greeters invite guests to sit anywhere, and advise that you are not observing traditional "bride's side, groom's side" rules.
