     Unity Candle

For Christmas we received a wax unity candle as a gift from one of our aunts. The gift was very kind, however, I had really wanted to have a glass oil candle that we can use in the future. Also, the candle we received is the type of candle I had always looked at and said I would never have at my wedding (I think it is very uglyUnsure). If I do not use it I am afraid I will hurt her feelings because that side of the family is over sensitive. With that said, I really do not want to use it. I would rather not have a unity candle than use it. Am I being too overly sensitive with feeling that the gift was inappropriate and just use it, or what should I do?

Any suggestions would be helpful!

Michelyn:

Ask yourself this question before deciding on using the unity candle:

What harm would using the unity candle given by my aunt cause; what harm would not using the unity candle cause?

In my opinion, the way the candle looks is a lot less important than the sentiment behind it.
