Where to Seat Same Sex Partner of Mother of the Bride

We are trying to figure out how my fiancee's mother's lesbian partner should be seated at the ceremony. Should she be seated with regular guests? Should she follow behind as his Mother is seated? Should she be escorted to be seated at same time as his mother? She did not raise him and the couple has not had a formal commitment ceremony, however, they do live together.

Dear Golflover,

She should be treated the same as if the mother was accompanied by a man. The mother is escorted to her seat with her significant other following closely behind. They sit together.

Best wishes,
