     catholic wedding?

My fiance was raised in catholic. I was baptized catholic but left my catholic school for public school and never went any further, no communion, confirmation etc. We want to get married catholic, but are not part of a catholic church and I wanted to know what requirements needed to be fulfilled to make this happen. I am so clueless. We don't want to go to his his church for questions or the ceremony because it is far from the reception site and he for some reason doesn't like the priest. If anyone can please help to point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I don't even know how to go about finding a church near the reception site!! Ugh!

I think what you will find with most chuches not only Catholic is that they want you to be a member of the church for 6 months to a year before they will schedule a wedding. The Catholic church will also require pre cana counseling. You should find some Catholic churches that you maybe interested in and check with them about their specific requirements. I am also assuming that this is a first marriage for both of you. If not, and one of you are divorced, then an annulment will be required. Another solution is to find Independent Catholic clergy in your area who could officiate the wedding at the reception site. Roman Catholic clergy usually can not do this --- so it would have to be Independent Catholic clergy. Best wishes to you and God Bless.
