     finding a church for wedding

I like in the UK and from birth to the age of 17 I attended
services at the United reformed church. I have been christened. My partner attended Church of England services on a few occasions but has not been christened.

We have been looking for churches/Chapels to get married in my Home town but I have recently found out thet my church has been sold privately and is no more. Therefore we are stuck for a place to get married!

I do not know what denominations are closest to the URC and we are baffled by the choice of Methodists/Calvanists/Baptists Catholics/Presbyterians and we also have the Church of England and Welsh speaking Chapels.

As we do not live in the town, will they accept us? How much do they charge on average? Will we have to attend the sevices.....and where do we start finding a denomination that is closest to the URC?

I am not very familiar with the United Reformed Church. However, I can tell you that the closest church to the Anglican Church in the U.S. is the Episcopal Church. The fact that your partner is not baptized may be a issue for some denominations that require baptism. One easy option is the go to your local Unitarian Church which accepts people from all denominations and often do not require baptism.

Blessings!
