gift giving to fiance's step daughter during the wedding ceremony

I want to give my fiance's daughter a gift during the ceremony to show that I accept her. When should I give her the gift during the ceremony?

There are several pieces of jewelry and gifts which come along with a special ceremony to insert as part of your wedding. If you already have a gift that does not include special vows or a ceremony speak to your officiant or clergy and ask for their advice. If you don't intend to include the child as part of the ceremony then it might be best to present her with the gift at the rehearsal dinner or some time before the wedding.

Ok, so I will make a speech. She is the flower girl and I am giving her jewelry. When is it best to present this in the ceremony?

It would be best to have this integrated as part of the ceremony. Speeches are best left to receptions and dinners. Please ask your officiant for guidance.

How old is she? Is her biological parent still in her life?
Are you male or female?
The reasons I ask these questions is because they determine the appropriateness of the gift.
An appropriate gift would be a locket with or without inscription, or other type of necklace that signifies affection. You may give this to her after your exchange of vows and rings, offer a few words of love and even a pledge.
If she is a very small child, under five, and yours will be in a primary caregiving role, you and your partner may jointly give her a special heart ring or something of that nature after your ring vows along with a pledge.
I hope this helps!
