     receiving line at church

Our church does not allow recieving lines, and we are planning on pictures during the cocktail hour. Do we have to have a recieving line, and if so, when is it done?

Dear Receiving line at Church,

You are not required to do a receiving line but would be required to greet and thank every guest for coming to your wedding.

You can either do a brief (just bride and groom) recieving line as guests enter the dinner area after leaving the cocktail area or you can visit each table at some time during the reception.
