seating of stepfather of the bride

The bride is being walked down the aisle by her Mother. Her Father is dead. Her step father will be there but not in the ceremony. When would the step father of the bride be seated?

He needs to take his seat before the seating of the grandmother(s), if there are any, and the MOG. Because he has no role in the ceremony, he's treated similar to the other guests with the difference being he has a special seat.
