Can the isle runner be layed down before the wedding? I have read and heard that it is the ushers job I believe to roll it out before the brides enterance, but does it have to be that way? I would like it down before everyone gets to the church, as I want it like that so I may sprinkle the rose petals on it as well, to give the church a little more color, as it is a bit dark in there.
As a Wedding Officiant/Minister, I've seen couples do very different things with their aisle runner. Some lay it out far in advance and the aisle runner is incorporated into the decorations. The challenge with this not ruining the runner while seating guests before the processional. Other couples roll the runner out just before the processional and sprinkle with rose petals. Annemarie is absolutely right. You can do it the way you like. Just two weeks ago, I did a wedding a church where the runner was laid out in advance by the florist and it was absolutely coated with rose petals. Rose petals were even sprinkled up the stairs leading to the altar. This in addition to freestanding bouquets.
Rose petals symbolize beauty, love and romance. They are poetic and fragrant. That is why so many brides dream of walking on petals!
