Asking bridal luncheon guests to help with wedding favors

My daughter, the bride, asked if we could have the guests at the bridal luncheon assist in putting together the wedding scrapbook & the wedding favors. Is this acceptable?

Dear Valgal,

If this is the traditional bridesmaids' bridal luncheon, then this is supposed to be a party where the bride thanks her attendants for their involvement in her wedding. If they are hosting it, they would offer her their gift to her. If this is some sort of party that is not traditional, it shouldn't be a gift giving event and all guests are treated as guests. We never ask them to help with wedding related tasks.

So, in all cases the answer would be no.

She can host some sort of gathering where she supplies the refreshments and all of the attendants and she works on wedding related tasks.

Best wishes,
