     Attendant Lodging

Hello!
My fiance and I live about 1 1/2 hours inland from our wedding site on the coast. Our wedding attendants will be coming from around the same area that we are coming from. Are we required to pay for their lodging? They will need to stay the night since its a evening wedding starting at 4:30pm. I dont think we are responsible since its not a destination wedding. I will be looking around at nearby hotels for a discounted group rate- that will help everyone attending!

Dear 1-1/2 Hours Away,

If you know, out a doubt, they with need to stay the night, you would be responsible for their lodging. However, that isn't that far away and they could drive home. So, do what you think is right.

Destination weddings are not only those where you must fly. These can be a few hours away. It is a destination when it is away from home.

Best wishes,
