     Dinner is pay your own

My sister-in-law is getting married for the second time. After the ceremony, she would like the guests to join her at the place she has chosen to eat - but she can only afford to pay for the wedding party. Is there a polite/correct way to word the dinner invitation so people will know they have to pay for their own food, but it won't sound tacky?

Thanks!

Dear Jblackson,

No, there is no way to word this as it is tacky and impolite. We never host a party for which the guests pay. In essence, they are paying for her reception.

It is best that she not invite guests.

Best wishes,
