     Divorced Parents

I want both my mother and father, who are divorced and don't get along, to walk me down the aisle together. My father, who is paying for most of the wedding, objects. He wishes to walk me down the aisle alone. I don't want to hurt my mother. What should I do?

Dear Mnielson,

If your parents don't get along, why put them in this position? Can you imagine how uncomfortable they and all those who know them will feel?

I suggest just sticking to the traditional roles. Dad escorts and mom is seated as special. They are seated rows apart. This will, hopefully, keep both more comfortable.

Best wishes,
