     Flowers for my date?

I am attending a wedding soon with my date and her mother. I will be picking them up and we will drive to the wedding together. I would like to know if it would be appropriate to bring my date and her mother flowers? Is it appropriate for them to carry flowers to a wedding and to the reception? If so, what type of flower(s) would be a good choice?

Thanks for you time.

Dear Flowers for My Date,

I hate to squelch any gentlemanly behavior, but no. As wonderful as it would be for you to give them flowers, only the wedding party should be carrying flowers. It would be too confusing for the other guest. They would be thinking that your date and her mother are part of the wedding party.

Please do not let this stop you from acting like a gentleman. You are special.

I agree with Rebecca. The thought is wonderful, so go for it but leave the flowers where you are picking them up. Enjoy and be proud.
