Gift for Wedding Coordinator for a Destination Wedding

We are planning a destination wedding, planned remotely by a wedding coordinator. We are wondering, is a gift customary for a wedding coordinator? If so, what do you suggest.

Gifts and tipping are always optional and given when exemplary services are provided. If you feel the wedding planner has gone above and beyond then a tip, or gift, is your choice. If giving a gift, consider the personality of the planner and select something she would like that suits your budget. Some ideas are a basket of goodies, either edible or not, bottle of wine, etc.
