I was a matron-of-honor in a wedding one month ago. The groom left the bride on the honeymoon and came back with another woman. What is the classiest way for the bride to announce that the marriage is being annulled so she doesn't have to ferret questions from family and friends one at a time? And secondly, the gifts have not been opened yet. Does she return them to the guests or just keep them and move on with her life?
Advice sorely needed,

Dear Advice,
There really is no reason to send notices to all friends and family announcing an annulment. However if she feels that she needs to, she may send a short note stating that the marriage has been annulled--no further information.
She will need to return all gifts, used or not with a note informing the gifters of the annulment. This is a must. As a friend, it would be a nice gesture to assist her in this. It can't be an easy task.
My sincere sympathies to the bride. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
