My husband and I were asked a few months ago to be best man and MOH in a wedding. The groom my husband has known for 20 plus years, the bride we both met about a year ago. When asked, we accepted but now its a diffrent story, the bride to be has severe depression issues and is back and forth about the wedding happening and not happening. Secondly that gets me is the way she treats her soon to be step children, she has openly admitted to the groom that she doesnt love or like his children. My husband and I have major problems with the way the bride handles these issues. We both are at our wits end and would like some advice on how to gracefully bow out of the wedding without completly hurting feelings if possible.... PLEASE HELP

Dear Am,
It seems that it would seem appropriate to just inform them that because of the volatile atmosphere, you need to step down. You could include her last intent to call off the wedding as the main reason.
