Introduction of bride & grooms' families

Who is responsible for introducing the parents of the bride and groom to each other? My daughter is getting married in two weeks and I still have not met his parents. I think she should have made arrangements for introductions. They live in another city, but she lives in a central location between his family and mine. Was I supposed to arrange the meeting? Meeting them for the first time at the wedding will likely be awkward.

Dear MOB,

Traditionally the groom's mother would have initiated the meeting, but you could have as well. Your daughter has probably been busy with life and planning her wedding. So, this may be something she isn't thinking about.

At this point, you could call them and arrange a get-together or introduce yourself at the wedding.

Best wishes,
