Inviting some people from the office and not others to the wedding
My FH and both have rather large families so our guest list for friends will be short. I work in a small office of about 13 people and am closer to some than others. I would like to invite them all but, if we take into consideration that each would bring a guest, we would be looking at 26 guests - too many for our restricted budget. How do I invite some co-workers but not all? Should I just not invite any and explain that we are just having family?

It is not mandatory that all single guests be invited to bring an escort. Only those in a committed relationship (married, engaged, living together) need to be invited to bring a guest, however, it is nice if everyone can have company.
If this suggestion does not bring your guest list to an acceptable number then maybe it would be best not to invite co-workers. Unless any of these people are close friends outside of the office it would be fine to leave them off the list. I agree. Many times it is best not to invite coworkers. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
