     Planning two weddings too close?

My older brother and I have 2 weddings planned. I am looking at June wedding and his is in July in Hawaii, with his reception following in August( in california). Are these two weddings planned too close together? He says that "m stealing the "air from his balloon", by planning my wedding so close to his. He also said that proper etiquette says to plan at least 6 months apart. Is he right??

Dear Planning,

There is no 'etiquette' law or rule about how many months one should plan her wedding from another family member's wedding. How could anyone assign a number value to this? I have heard four months, six months... This is more a common sense courtesy we extend to those we love. We don't want to complicate their lives, or "steal the "air from his balloon."

One month is a bit close. I'm sorry that your brother is mad at you. But, it sounds as if his wedding plans are very organized and set and he has very little wiggle room. If there is any way that you could move your wedding date at least a couple of months, it would make your guests and your family a little happier. This will be costly for those closest to you--and stressful.

Two, so close? I would be going grayer faster than I am now.

Best wishes,

No. He's being childish. Have your weddings when you want. NO ONE has single claim on any day during the year. Save maybe for the exact same day.

Well, lets hope that brothers and sisters care for each other and want to consider their feelings as well as the family members that will have to travel for both of these events.
