Post Wedding Reception Attire for bride

We were recently married in a private destination ceremony with plans of a Post Wedding Dinner Reception at home a month after. My question is, is it proper for me to wear my wedding dress for the dinner reception or shall I find a special occasions dress for the event? What would follow proper etiquette? If it is not proper to wear the wedding dress, is it too odd and in appropriate to have the dress on display for the eager friends and family who have been persistent about seeing it up close? Please help.

Thank you

Sarah

Dear Post Wedding Reception,

Either dress would be appropriate. Just please do not wear a veil. You could also renew your vows for your family. This does not have to be elaborate, just something for your family to see and hear the words. If you would rather simple share a dinner, you could play a video of your ceremony during the reception. This could help those who could not attend the ceremony feel as if they are part of it.

Best wishes,
