     Pre-wedding parties for destination wedding

After reading am I understanding correctly that for a destination wedding with couple only, no guests there should be no engagement party, bridal shower, no registering for gifts.

I have several friends who want to give a party for the couple before the wedding and someone who wants to give bride or couple a shower. Should I tell them no?

All of these pre-wedding parties are optional and only those invited to the wedding should be invited. You can go ahead and register for gifts since there may be friends and family who wish to give/send a gift.

You should politely decline these invitations, yes.
