My cousin is getting married in 5 days. I had RSVP'd by the requested date that my husband and I would no be attending due to my husband's recent surgery. He is recovering better than anticipated and although he still won't be able to make it, I would very much like to attend. Do I just shut up and miss out since I already RSVP'd 0 attendance, or see if 1 more can be added at this late date. I certainly do not wish to add any further stress on the bride and groom, but care for them very much and would like to share this day with them since my current circumsances are now allowing me to do so. This request would probably cause some issues with the venue and the seating, etc and some additional work for the bride or whomever is making the plans. I would go to the church (or wherever they are having the ceremony), which in my opinion is the important part of the entire wedding day. Wish your neice and her new husband well and offer your apolgies for not being able to attend the reception. She will appreciate having you there for the ceremony.
