     Reception Guest LIst

Is it in poor taste to invite people to the wedding and not the reception (dinner)?

Dear Ms. Martin, You may invite guest to the reception that are not invited to the wedding, but not the other way around. Many just assume that after the wedding they will meander on to the reception. To not invite them would be obvious and impolite. However, many couples choose to marry in a small quaint chapel or just want a small intimate gathering for their nuptials, so inviting some to only the reception makes sense. I hope this clears up any confusion. Congratulations. Sincerely,
