     Severe Social Anxiety

Unsure I have the most sever Social anxiety of anyone I know. I start shaking, my mouth gets dry and I choke on my words. I get really hot which makes it worse. I feel like I am blushing. I just hate being in front of people, I would rather avoid the whole event. Thats why me and my fiance' were planning on just going to a courthouse. But I don't want this disorder taking my special day away from me. Well my parents know I want to have the whole dress, cake, flowers thing, so they suggested we have the guests stand so I feel more like I am in a group than in front of an audience. We would have two rows of chairs for the parents/grandparents, and pregnant guests. Then the rest of the guests would make a semi-circle around us. We would keep the ceremony to 15 - 20 minutes. This will be on June 8th in Utah, in the mountains. Will this be okay?? Does anyone else have any suggestions for a more than nervous bride?Unsure

Dear Bnlyn,

Most likely this won't be too long for guests to stand. As long as you have someone mingling with your guests to find out if they will need a chair, you are being a great host.

Even after teaching for some time and presenting workshops I had a problem presenting for some of my peers. So, someone suggested that I take off my shoes. It helped so much. It also helps to speak to everyone before your event.

Best wishes,
