Has anyone heard that it's tacky to have a table at a wedding reception that's set aside for gifts and cards? Someone just told me this. I have only been to 1 wedding where there was no gift table, and the guests threw a fit because they were worried their gifts and cards were going to get stolen.
If so, is there some better way to avoid making the guests put their gifts/cards on the floor, where they can get in the way, get dirty, or get stolen?

Hello Purple,
Traditionally, gifts should be mailed to your mother's house or yours. So there would be no gift table. But as we know, many now bring gifts to the reception. Not to have some safe place for guests to place their gifts seems silly.
Bottom line: I do not think it is tacky. It is utilitarian.

Thanks. Unless I hear a better idea, I'm going to have a table and put a floral arrangement in the middle. That way it will look like a decoration and could serve the purpose of holding the gifts, if there are any.
