Thank you cards for gifts received prior to the wedding

Hi,

Me and my future husband will be getting married in Sweden, so we created an online registry with a department store. We are currently 2 months prior to the big day, but have already started receiving gifts. When would it be appropriate to send out a thank you card, directly after we receive the gift or after the wedding?

One more complication is that we will be apart for almost 4 months after the wedding due to immigration issues. So it is going to be hard to get our thank you cards out signed by the two of us and personlized to match the gift we received from a specific guest. What would be the best thing to do here as not to appear rude and ungrateful?

Thank you so much for your advice.

Dear Thank you cards,

Thank you for being so gracious. It is very refreshing.

You would send your thank you notes out as soon as you receive a gift. Both of you do not need to sign each card. You or he may sign for both of you. So, you can write your thank you cards out promptly.

Congratulations and I hope the immigration issues are not too complicated.

Best wishes,
