Two daughters engaged recently - which should marry first?
My two daughters were recently engaged 6 weeks apart. The younger one (ONE) was engaged first, after dating for 3 1/2 years. She is planning a May 2009 wedding. The older one (TWO) was engaged after dating for 9 months, is moving to a different state this June and will have the wedding there. She does not want to have the wedding here. TWO's wedding would be a "destination" wedding for all guests as it is too far to drive. TWO would like a fall wedding in 2008. Is it wrong for TWO to plan her wedding before ONE'S because ONE was engaged first? Should ONE feel like her "thunder" has been taken away if TWO is married first?

Dear Loving Mom,
There is nothing wrong with daughter two marrying first. Her date is not close enough for any of her guests to be inconvenienced and this is our biggest concern. Most likely many won't be able to travel anyway. But, they may--still no worries.
Daughter one shouldn't feel slighted by this at all. It should be a reason for celebration that both are happy and beginning a new chapter of their lives.
