     What to do?

My fiancee and I are getting married in December before the birth of our first child, I have 2 others from a previous relationship. We plan to go to a chapel with few family and friends and have a little dinner at my mother's house. In April 2005, we want to have a fairly large wedding reception (about 150). How do I go about planning this? Would it be tacky to do a renewal of vows at the reception? Also, Would it be tacky if I wore a wedding dress at the reception since I won't be able to wear one in December due to my pregnancy? Since my wedding n December will be a small one, is it okay for my 13 yr. old daughter to be my only attendant? This will be my first marriage and my fiancee's second marriage. Please help me. Thanks.

Dear What to do,

It sounds like you would want to have a reaffirmation celebration. You would remarry and have a reception after. You may wear a wedding dress, but no train. Your children can definitely be members of your bridal party.

If you want to schedule this for April, you'd better get started. Your options are already fewer because many sites book a year in advance. You will have to be inventive.

Best wishes,
